Not ready for my close-up! Lauren Conrad can't survive without her make-up

Say cheese! Lauren Conrad is stricken with an uncharacteristic bout of camera shyness


She's spent years of her life in front of the cameras on reality TV shows Laguna Beach and The Hills.

But Lauren Conrad was overcome with embarrassment yesterday when she left a Hollywood beauty salon .

The 24-year-old was convinced she looked terrible leaving the salon and tried her best to keep her head down as she walked out.

And she even took to Twitter to share her frustration.

'Gym clothes, no makeup, wet hair and leaving a painful laser hair removal apt... This is exactly when I want to find 15 paps around my car.'

The Hills star was convinced she looked frumpy and unattractive, despite the fact that most average women wished they looked like Lauren on her 'off' days.

With her slim figure, clear skin and glossy hair, Lauren has always had the looks to carry a reality show like The Hills, and was listed in People Magazine's 2010 Most Beautiful list.

And she looked like a typical LA starlet yesterday with her tiny pink hoodie and tight black leggings, flip flops and aviators.

But this isn't the first time Lauren, who is frequently seen wearing very small Daisy Duke-style denim cut-offs, has spoken up about issues regarding her body.

The fashion designer recently spoke to Glamour Magazine about her battle to stay fit, claiming she doesn't feel the need to be part of the extreme-skinny craze popular with stars such as Whitney Port and Cheryl Cole.

'I’ve never felt a push to be stick thin,' Lauren says. 'I work out and eat healthy, so mostly it’s about being in shape and having energy.

‘But about a year ago, I looked down and thought, I have cellulite. Where did that come from? I went through treatments; [my body] was like, it’s not going anywhere.'
