The role will be a major departure for the actress who found fame playing Rachel in the hit TV series Friends.
In recent years she has appeared in a series of romantic comedies, including The Switch and Bounty Hunter that have failed to win over audiences.

Aniston and Rudd previously co-starred together in romantic comedy The Object Of My Affection 12 years ago.

Before shooting begins in November Aniston is to be reunited with her former Friends co-star Courtney Cox when she makes a guest appearance in the TV series Cougar Town.
