Snake hips: Shakira struts her stuff on the set of her new video in Barcelona and unwittingly reveals her stretchmarks


She may be rich, beautiful, and talented.

But South American songstress Shakira is as unlucky as the rest of us when it comes to getting stretchmarks.

The 33-year-old Hips Don't Lie singer unwittingly revealed a smattering of the marks as she filmed her latest music video.

Her low-slung trousers unveiled a trail of silvery marks around the top of her hips.

Stretchmarks, or striae as they are known medically, are a form of skin scarring.

They appear when the skin is rapidly stretched through weight gain or growth spurts.

Model and actress Kelly Brook showed that she too is a stretchmark sufferer when she appeared at a Hollywood awards ceremony in a low-cut dress last week.

She appeared to have a number of lines along the top of her breasts.
Earlier Shakira took a spin around Barcelona on a pair of roller-skates while filming outdoor scenes for the video.

Dressed in a bikini top, summer skirt and vest, she cruised around the beach promenade on her set of wheels.

The Colombian wore protective knee-pads as well as a pair of old school headphones and at one point stopped to touch up her own make-up.

Later she slipped on a pair of leather trousers and playfully splashed around in a fountain before going for a spin on the back of a motorcycle.

It has emerged that the Columbian singer is working on a duet with British rapper Dizzee Rascal.

The track, called Loca, will feature on upcoming Spanish album Sale el Sol.

Shakira, who has been seen on the set of numerous photo shoots in recent months, is gearing up for a promotional blitz ahead of the album's November release.

She is set to perform a world tour, kicking off the North American leg in Canada on September 15.

She will play a total of 21 shows in the US before heading over to Latin America, Europe and Asia.
