Bronzed bombshell: Britney Spears arrives at the Hollywood studio

Britney Spears appears to be totally back on track and in the best shape of her life as she arrived for her second week's work in the studio yesterday.

Looking stunning wearing a white vest top - and bra for once - along with taupe coloured shorts and wedge sandals, the star appeared toned, tanned, healthy and happy.

As well as hitting the studio, the blonde singer has also clearly been hitting the gym as she showed off the kind of legs to make a ballet dancer jealous.

The formerly troubled mother of two, 28, popped into Westlake studios on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles and seemed so thrilled to be back at work, she tweeted on her official account: 'What's uuupppp tweethearts? Spending the day in the studio recording.'

Madonna, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Manson and Alanis Morrisette have all graced its sound booths before so fans will be hoping for great things from the Toxic singer.

The album will be the follow-up to her 2008 offering Circus. That had a fraught gestation, as it followed her very public breakdown in February 2007 when she shaved her head, as well as her spell on a mental health ward in January 2008 after a police raid saw her lose custody of her children, Sean Preston, four, and Jayden James, three.

Eyes down: The singer seems to be concentrating on her career now

Since then, Britters has found stablility with boyfriend and former manager Jason Trawick and had the fifth highest grossing tour of 2009 with her Circus tour.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the popstrel is to make a cameo appearance in hit US TV series Glee.

Speaking on Ryan Seacrest's morning radion show in the US last week, the show's creator Ryan Murphy said the star would appear as part of a 'reverential' episode featuring her music.

He said: 'It's about her music and not her personal life. We're handling Britney with sort of kid gloves. I really admire what she's done with her life and how she's turned things around.'

Spears' music, he explained, would feature in fantasy sequences set in motion when the characters visit the dentist and are put under anaesthetic.
