Kelly Osbourne has had a tough month with the breakdown of her relationship with fiancé Luke Worrall and the death of her beloved dog.

Now it looks as though the star is using her heartache as inspiration.

The 25-year-old was spotted heading into a recording studio in Los Angeles with a male friend yesterday, loaded down with bags and books.

She was wearing a comfortable ensemble including a black floaty skirt, layered vests with a cardigan and Ugg boots.

After a while inside she emerged and had changed out of the Uggs and into some peep-toe platform pumps for a more glamorous look.

Kelly, who has previously released versions of Papa Don't Preach and Girls Just Want to Have Fun, has taken a hiatus from recording music in recent years

But Kelly seems eager to keep busy following the end of her engagement to the 20-year-old.

The former Dancing With The Stars contestant and the blond model started dating in May 2008 after meeting through friends.

The pair split amid rumours he cheated on her and just days later she returned home from a trip to Las Vegas to find her dog Woody dead.
