Hollywood stars try and coordinate for red carpet events as much as possible.

But last night Megan Fox took her passion for fashion to the extreme by matching her tan to her dress at the VH1 Do Something Awards in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old actress, who was a surprise guest presenter at the ceremony, wore a flirty Azzedine Alaia dress and matching Brian Atwood heels to the event - but almost faded into the background in the tan number.

Married life: The event was Megan's first public appearance since she married Brian Austin Green in June

Last night also marked Megan's first public appearance since she married former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green.

The pair wed in a secret ceremony last month, with just Brian's son Kassius as a witness.

And Megan's huge diamond engagement ring and wedding band were clear to see as she presented Mark Rembert on award for launching Energize Clinton County, a revolutionary community movement.

Other stars to attend the event at the Hollywood Palladium included 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord, who wore a peach Herve Leger dress and nude heels, and teen singer Demi Lovato.

The 17-year-old star wore a pretty pink and purple dress which highlighted her figure, and recently admitted that curvy socialite Kim Kardashian is her fashion inspiration.

Crediting Kim for promoting both curves and confidence, Demi explained: 'I just love the way that she dresses.

'Kim wears clothes that fit her body…I’ve been embracing my body as I’ve been getting older, I’m starting to have curves and I’m embracing it and kind of looking to her style to help me out with that.'

And the feeling appears to be mutual, with Kim replying: 'I think when young girls look up to you, it’s important to set a good example, and that’s exactly what Demi is doing with her style. Keep it up, girl, you look fab!'

Comeback: Natasha Bedingfield performed some of her new material at the show

Winner: Joe Jonas picked up the Music Artist Award for the Jonas Brothers

British singer Natasha Bedingfield also appeared at the event and performed some of her new material from her upcoming album.

Despite being out of the limelight over the past few years, Natasha is on her way to making a comeback and her new single Touch is already proving a big success in the U.S.

Wearing a stunning black and gold dress with embellished shoulder, Natasha looked beautiful as she performed on the VH1 awards.

Beautiful in black: American Idol judge Paula Abdul looked pretty in a black corseted style number

The ceremony was hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester in the hit U.S. TV show, who also picked up the award for the Do Something TV Show.

Other celebrity winners throughout the evening included Joe Jonas, who was presented with the Music Artist Award for his band the Jonas Brothers, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who won the Movie Actor prize, but could not attend the ceremony.

The annual Do Something Awards see prizes presented to those who represent 'doers' in their field, cause or issue.
