'Hello Cheryl? It's Robbie...' Take That want Cheryl Cole to support them on sell-out 2011 tour

By MAIL ONLINE SHOWBIZ REPORTER

'Let's talk': Cheryl Cole arrives at the X Factor studios yesterday on her phone

She is one of the most in-demand women in the UK right now, and Cheryl Cole has just landed herself some more fans.

Take That have revealed that the X Factor judge is their number one choice to support them on their tour next year.

Cheryl arrived at the X Factor studios yesterday with her mobile phone glued to her ear.

Dressed in dark skinny jeans, gold heels and a warm navy coat, Cheryl waved to fans as she chatted on her way from her chauffeured Mercedes into the studio.

Take That revealed they were a fan of the Promise This singer during an interview with BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills.

When the radio host asked them who would be joining on the 2011 tour, which starts in Sunderland on May 30, the band were at first coy on the topic.

'We had a talk about it yesterday actually,' Robbie Williams said.
'And a few names have been thrown about and we're asking them at the minute, so we better not say.'

'Do you have her direct line?': Take That said during an interview on Radio 1 that Cheryl was their pick to support them on their UK tour

When Cheryl's name was brought up Mark Owens enthused, 'Do you have her direct line?'
Rapper Tinie Tempah has also been mooted as a potential support act.

The Take That boys also chatted at length about their favourite X Factor finalists during the thirty minute-long interview.

Robbie, who sang during the finals last year with runner up Olly Murs, asked how 17-year-old Cher Lloyd was progressing, while Gary Barlow said he liked Mary Byrne and Matt Cardle.

Asked if they liked One Direction, they said the youngsters reminded them of themselves. 'They're quite good, they're like us when we started.'

'They're tiny,' Robbie added. 'They're like five Mark Owens. Owens slash Bieber.'

Fans: The revelation was made during an interview on Radio 1

Thousands of Take That fans were left devastated yesterday when ticket websites crashed, unable to cope with the high demand.

However, a statement from the group urged Take That fans to keep trying as tickets are currently still available to buy.

The statement read: 'Due to totally unprecedented demand all ticket agents have struggled to cope with the number of people logging on to try and buy Take That tickets.'

The tour went on sale at 9am and tickets had already sprung up on eBay by last night with many on sale for upwards of £10,000.

Last night, 35 fans were embroiled in a fierce bidding war on eBay. With hours still to go on the auction for two standing at Wembley, the price had reached £999,999.

Another auction had received a bid of £375,000, while dozens were offering tickets priced between £20,000 and £60,000.

Music promoter Harvey Goldsmith said: ‘This is an absolute mess. Half the people putting things up for sale online don’t actually even have them and are taking advantage of the fact that people panic, and they are vulnerable.

‘You also have unscrupulous people who have no interest in Take That or whichever band and realise they can pay for their next holiday or their extension simply by getting hold of tickets and adding a huge mark-up.’

Extra dates were added to cope with the demand, taking the total number of UK shows to 25, and Robbie Williams posted a comment on the Twitter website pleading with fans to use official outlets.

He said: ‘Please do not purchase tickets from unofficial agents or eBay; we cannot vouch for their authenticity and you could end up out of pocket.’

Matt Cardle launches blistering attack on 'fame hungry' Katie Waissel and says he wants her out of the X Factor

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Wanted out: Matt Cardle says 'fame-obsessed' Katie Waissel, seen here arriving at rehearsal studios in North London on Friday, should leave the X Factor

Tensions are running at fever pitch behind the scenes on the X Factor after Matt Cardle launched a stinging attack on under-fire Katie Waissel.

The former painter and decorator, who is the bookmaker’s favourite to win the ITV talent show, blasted the blonde as a 'fame-hungry t**t' - and revealed he wanted her out of the competition and out of the X Factor house.

His comments came after the 24-year-old receptionist was alleged to have leaked a story to a Sunday newspaper about the pair being caught in bed together.

Brave face: Waissel wears a smile despite her unpopularity on the show

Not a Waissel fan: Matt Cardle arrives at the X Factor rehearsal studios ahead of this weekend's shows

It is a claim Miss Waissel has strenuously denied, saying they were merely watching a Family Guy DVD on his laptop - though she admitted they had kissed each other during a game the week before.

But the 27-year-old hopeful, who is mentored by Dannii Minogue, was said to be 'furious' and 'humiliated' and told Miss Waissel to 'stop making stuff up' in a bid to raise her profile.

And it seems Mr Cardle's rage has not subsided as speaking from the rehearsal studios yesterday he said: 'That stuff about us being in bed together was absolute bullsh*t.

Brave face: Cher Lloyd pulls a smile that's a half grimace on her way into Fountain Studios for show rehearsals

'Katie's a fame hungry tw*t. I can't say any more about it because nothing happened.
'I would never go near her. I'm not speaking to her, I don't have anything to do with her in the house.

'I've made my feelings absolutely clear and if she doesn't get it by now then she's more stupid than I thought.'

Asked what Miss Waissel could do to make amends he said: 'The only thing she could do is leave the competition.

Getting ready: Zayn Malik from One Direction, Esther Campbell from Belle Amie - who was all dressed up for Halloween - and Mary Byrne arrive to practice their routines for tomorrow's live show

'I don't care if she's in or out of it, as long as she's out of my face. I'm concentrating on the competition, not all that sh*t.'

The singer also denied reports that he had reunited with his girlfriend Lauren Cutmore, saying: 'I'm single.

‘She’s a lovely girl but we are not back together and never will get back together.
'We split up because we split up, it had nothing to do with the X Factor.'

It had been reported yesterday that the singer had reunited with his ex, who he split with just before being put through to the 'Boot Camp' stage.

Crazy for Cardle: X Factor fans at the Fountain studios in London as the remaining 11 contestants rehearse

It's rumoured that he was advised to ditch his four year relationship by X Factor bigwigs, believing that his single status would gain him a wider fanbase and boost his chances of winning Britain's biggest talent contest.

Matt is 6-4 favourite to win the X Factor and has been praised week after week for his strong performances and impressive vocal range.

Following his acoustic performance of Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time last weekend, Simon Cowell said: 'It is easy to do a straight cover version of a song but to take a song like that and make it your own – I think you are one of the most important people on the show.’

And even though Miss Waissel has struggled to impress viewers, it seems they are now coming around after she gave two sterling performances over the past two weeks.

Scary times: Aiden Grimshaw pulls a terrified face ahead of this weekend's Halloween shows

Last week, Simon Cowell praised her rendition of I Wanna Be Like You from The Jungle Book, saying: ‘I thought was terrific,’, while Louis Walsh added: 'This is the real Katie. She sang, she danced, she entertained and she's got The X Factor. I loved it.'

Mr Cardle, however said he is struggling to come to terms with his new fame, saying: 'It's all a bit odd but it's nice that the fans want to come and show their support.

'It's a sign that they are enjoying what they see on a Saturday night. The girls just scream all the time.

'I mean, if I had six 25-year-olds screaming at me then it would be different, but they are young girls.’

But Katie Waissel clearly has no such problems. The 24-year-old tweeted a message to fans on Friday, writing: "I'll be back out again soon, I promise!! it's so cute whenever u scream for One Direction I can't help but scream with you lol!!xxx"
The 11 remaining contenders will perform in Saturday's show with the results of the public vote unveiled on Sunday.

The quick and the dead: The artist who carves petrifying pumpkin portraits in just two hours

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Horrifyingly good: Ray Villafane takes, on average, just two hours to carve one of his pumpkin sculptures, like this one entitled Shattered

It takes several months to grow the fruit but amazingly just two hours for artist Ray Villafane to sculpt these petrifyingly detailed portraits out of pumpkin.

The American model designer and former art teacher uses spoons and a scalpel to carve the innocent orange gourds into Halloween horrors in double quick time.

As you might expect Villafane, who has worked for D.C and Marvel comics, is very particular about his pumpkins.

'Not all pumpkins will look good and the most important thing about a pumpkin is its weight,' he says.

'You need to pick the meatiest pumpkin.

'Sometimes I pick up a beautifully shaped pumpkin but when I do I realise that it is not heavy enough. Its wall is just not thick enough for the carving rigours.

'I also like a pumpkin with character. One with nobly ridges is good, so that I can utilise that in the carving procedure, like with sculpting noses.'

Villafane, 41, has become a minor celebrity in the States and his weird and wonderful work has featured on a range of TV programmes.

Yet he stumbled on his fruity talent almost by accident.

Range: Villafane's sculpture Medusa shows where some of his inspiration comes from, but he has previously sculpted Star Wars characters and even Barrack Obama into pumpkins

Increasingly intricate: This work, Zipperhead, is the most complicated design so far and took Villafane a day to complete while Nailbiter, right, shows his love for oddly shaped pumpkin to lend character to his designs

'I used to be an art teacher for 13 years at a Michigan School called Bellaire school and one day I was approached for Halloween to do some pumpkin carving,' he said.

'Sculpting has always been a passion. I thought why don't I try and carve the pumpkin like it is a piece of clay as opposed to a large vegetable.

'It came out alright, but the most important result was that the kids at the school absolutely loved it.

'I used to arrive at school and there would be a dozen pumpkins just sitting there waiting for me at my classroom.'

Villafane, who is still based in Bellaire, didn't perfect his art immediately and had to punch a lot of pumpkins in frustration while honing his skills.

Professor pumpkin: Villafane used to be an art teacher and pupils loved his designs such as Jackhyde, left and Tongue Twisting, right

However, working for D.C comics - the home of Superman and Batman - has helped him honed his talent.

Over the last four Octobers his pumpkins have raised his profile to the point where he has become something of a Halloween staple on TV and across the internet.

'For the past couple of years I have been really sitting down and giving my Halloween pumpkin designs more thought than usual due to the increased interest in my carvings,' he said.

'Now that the thing has grown in popularity I am definitely feeling the pressure to deliver on the pumpkin front.

'The most intricate pumpkin model that I have designed is the Zipperhead model, which took the best part of a day. Otherwise, the models take a couple of hours.

'If it is something that I am creating myself then I will do it off the top of my head, like the skulls and gargoyles. They are a pleasure to make.'

Native American: This less spooky sculpture is called Gourdonomo

These pumpkins aren't a patch on mine! Heidi Montag gets into the Halloween spirit on day out with Spencer Pratt

By SARAH BULL

Getting into the Halloween spirit: Heidi Montag messes around with a couple of pumpkins on a day out with husband Spencer Pratt

She went under the knife to increase her breasts to a staggering size DDD.

But it seems Heidi Montag might want to have yet another augmentation, judging by her day out at the pumpkin patch with husband Spencer Pratt yesterday.

The 24-year-old reality TV star joked around with Spencer as she picked up two of the biggest pumpkins and held them to her chest.

Collapsing in giggles, Heidi then walked around still holding the vegetables at chest level, laughing as Spencer looked on.

But it wasn't only Heidi who was having fun with the seasonal pumpkins ahead of Halloween, as Spencer decided to use his army knife to cut out two eye holes before proceeding to put the pumpkin on his head.

The pair recently reunited after briefly splitting earlier this year.

Following Pratt's unreasonable behaviour on The Hills, the reality show which made them both household names, Heidi filed for divorce from Spencer.

Looking good! Spencer decided to cut out some eye holes in one of the pumpkins before putting it on his head

That's better: The pair appeared to be having fun as they chose the perfect pumpkins

However, following an estrangement over the summer, they decided to give their marriage another go.

Heidi said at the time: 'As far as I'm concerned the last thing in the world after everything we have just been through is to go through with this divorce.
'But we are just taking life second by second.'

Wearing a cropped purple checked shirt and tiny denim shorts on her pre-Halloween day out, Heidi was unrecognisable from her younger self in the early days of The Hills.

Early days: Spencer with a pre-surgery Heidi in 2007

She famously underwent 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, including a nose job, breast augmentation, chin reduction, mini brow lift and liposuction.

And despite revealing earlier this year she wanted to go under the knife to increase her breasts to a size H, Heidi has now revised her decision, insisting she doesn't want to risk her life ever again.

She said: 'I will never have surgery again. It wasn't worth it. I just don't want to put my body under the knife again.

'I would rather have a little bit too big of breasts than risk my life again.'

X Factor: One more disaster for One Direction as fan is injured in rush to see boy band

By EMILY SHERIDAN

Ouch: A young fan ended up with an injured foot in the rush to see One Direction outside X Factor rehearsals in Wembley today

They haven't even released their first single yet and already One Direction appear to be reaching the heights of Beatlemania.

But excitement at seeing their idols turned to pain for one teenage fan today when she ended up injured in the rush to meet the boy band.

A young brunette was left needing hospital treatment after her foot ended up underneath One Direction's taxi as they arrived for rehearsals.

Calm down girls! The teenage fans had rushed One Direction's taxi as it tried to pull out when the accident occured

As the taxi pulled up outside Fountain Studios in Wembley, north west London, a group of screaming girls rushed the vehicle so the driver decided to pull away.

In the melee, one fan ended up injured and was later seen wearing a foot brace as she was wheel into an ambulance by paramedics.

A friend of the girl wrote on Twitter: 'OMG, my friend went to the X Factor Studios today and the car that One Direction were in ran over her foot and now she's in hospital.'

Medical attention: A paramedic tends to the injured fan before she is taken to hospital

Injured: The fan's hopes of seeing One Direction today are dashed as she's wheeled into an ambulance

The girl's injury comes just two days after One Direction bandmember Liam Payne hurt his ankle after falling on stage during a gig by rapper Tinie Tempah.

The 17-year-old was performing with his bandmates at Koko in Camden, north London when he tripped on stage.

Liam's injury has apparently made the group reconsider their choreography ahead of Saturdays' Halloween-themed live show.

Writing on his Twitter page, Liam said: 'What a doofus! Fell over on stage in front of Tinie Tempah.... so uncool.'

Enjoying his fame: One Direction's youngest member Harry Styles (front) and bandmate Zayn Malik (left) chat to fans over the security fence

Little heartbreakers: The group (L-R) Zayn, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Harry and Louis Tomlinson have been called 'five Justin Biebers' by judge Louis Walsh

Since they were formed by Cowell, One Direction have quickly established the biggest fanbase on the show with teenage girls across the country going crazy for the five-piece.

The four judges have regularly compared the group to other boy bands or 'five Justin Biebers', with their mentor Simon Cowell dubbing them 'the most exciting popband in the country'.

After their performance last week of Pink's Nobody Knows, Cheryl Cole said: 'You are my guilty pleasure. When you watch the VT and see all the hysteria you cause, that’s what you should do, that’s what boybands should be about.'

One Direction-mania: Fans off school on half-term hang on to a security fence for the chance to see their idols

'We love you One Direction': The fans even ended up on lying on the pavement in the hope of seeing the band

However, oldest bandmember Louis Tomlinson broke hearts this week when he admitted he had a girlfriend.

The 18-year-old said he had been in relationship for seven months and she came down from Doncaster every weekend to see him in the live shows.

While Cowell has denied Louis Walsh's accusations that he 'only cares about One Direction' and isn't giving full support to girl group Belle Amie, his former proteges Diva Fever has also echoed the Irish judge's comments.

Diva Fever's Craig Saggers, 21, told Now magazine: 'He only cares about One Direction. He sees pound signs when he looks at them.'

Calm: Fortunately Cher Lloyd (left) and Rebecca Ferguson's arrivals at rehearsals weren't so chaotic

It's the mother of all scrambles as pregnant fan gets her hands on Take That tickets... but thousands miss out as websites crash

By SARAH BULL

Thrilled: One pregnant fan poses with her tickets after queuing for hours outside Manchester Stadium

Thousands of Take That fans have been left devastated after being unable to purchase tickets for the group's Progress Live 2011 tour.

However, several people who decided to camp out at the various stadiums in a bid to get their hands on the hotly-anticipated tickets found their determination paid off.

And one of the lucky ones was a certain expectant fan, who decided to queue for tickets despite being heavily pregnant.

Posing with one hand on her stomach and the other clutching her precious tickets, the woman smiled widely as she was photographed outside Manchester Stadium.

After millions of keen fans logged onto the internet this morning in the hope of getting their hands on some of the hotly-anticipated tickets, many of the ticket websites crashed as they were unable to cope with the demand.

However, a statement from the group urged Take That fans to keep trying as tickets are currently still available to buy.

The statement read: 'Due to totally unprecedented demand all ticket agents have struggled to cope with the number of people logging on to try and buy Take That tickets.

Excited: (Left to right) Carol Anne King, Joanna Webb and Sam Owen from Wednesbury with their tickets outside Villa Park, Birmingham

'The technology available has not been able to keep up with demand however all ticket agents are confident they will be able to process all enquiries so are asking fans to keep trying.'

The demand for the tickets, which went on sale at 9am this morning, is also causing issues with the UK telephone network, according to Ticketmaster.

Following the unprecedented demand, Take That decided to put three more dates up for sale, in Sunderland, Glasgow and Birmingham on May 31st, June 24th, and June 28th respectively.

Still smiling: Fans who stayed overnight seen outside Villa Park this morning

Desperation: Many fans queued overnight in a bid to get their hands on tickets in Birmingham

The online retailer added in a statement: 'Call volume is at least twice that of the Michael Jackson on sale last March. We are working to resolve the issues and we are confident that fans will be able to purchase tickets and we ask that they keep trying.'

BT added: 'Despite huge levels of demand this morning for Take That tickets, the UK’s telephone network coped well with the volume of calls received, which was 3-4 times above normal levels.

'Some traffic management was introduced to allow the network to cope with the high volume of calls, so some people may have experienced difficulty in getting through on the phone to some ticket outlets.'

And while general admission tickets have not yet sold out, there are already thousands of people putting their tickets up for sale on auction sites including eBay.

Comeback: Take That announced their tour plans earlier this week

Back on the road: The boys originally put 15 UK dates on sale but already added three more dates

Two tickets for Take That's performance at Manchester were already fetching a staggering price of £357, while a pair of standing tickets for Wembley were at £405 with over half an hour left on the auction.

One fan wrote on Twitter: 'Isn't it really annoying that many of the people buying #TakeThat tickets are doing so to sell on at extortionist prices?'

One fan, Laura Docherty, wrote on the band's Facebook page: 'I got tickets. But I've never experienced every website down. Got tickets in the end. Good luck to you all who are trying.'

There have also been warnings from the police urging fans not to buy tickets for the tour from any unofficial websites, as many sites have already been set up specifically to sell fake tickets.

Detective Inspector Sean Crotty, of the Metropolitan Police Economic and Specialist Crime Command, says, 'There are huge numbers of Take That fans who will be desperate to get hold of tickets for these concerts.

Early risers: The queue outside Villa Park in the early hours of the morning

Dedication: Claire Bateman, Caroline Chalmers, Emma Hurd and Kelly Hurd decided to sleep outside to ensure they were first in line

'However, buying tickets from unofficial websites or agencies could result in them losing money, having their credit cards details compromised and ultimately losing out on the opportunity to see the band.'

Take That's last tour, Circus, broke British box office records when it sold 600,000 tickets in less than five hours in 2009. It was seen by more than one million people.
The group formed in 1990, but Robbie Williams quit in 1995 to pursue a solo career.

In 1996, Take That split, but Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange reformed in 2005 and have since released two hit albums.

The group are already causing a storm with their new single The Flood, which is widely agreed by Take That fans to be one of their best songs ever.
