She may be 56, but supermodel Christie Brinkley proved she has still got it on the set of Adam Sandler's film Jack and Jill yesterday.

Despite retiring from full time work years ago, the former Sports Illustrated and Covergirl model has clearly not forgotten how to work an outfit - even if it's a bathrobe.

Christie relaxed outside her trailer in between filming her cameo appearance in Beverly Hills, and showed off her endless catwalk legs in a pair of gold Christian Louboutin heels.

She even took full advantage of a brief spell of sunshine during the rainy day by wrapping the robe seductively around her chest to reveal her tanned arms.

Billy Joel's ex-wife flashed her famous dazzling white teeth as she basked in the sun and chatted to co-star Katie Holmes as they waited on set.

While 32-year-old Katie preferred to go for comfort in a pair of dowdy slippers, Christie was every inch the supermodel in her sky high heels.

The pair were laughing throughout their conversation, but Katie appeared to be in an otherwise gloomy mood for much of the day.

She looked decidedly glum as she waited spoke to crew members before shooting a scene.

Katie carried her heels and purse in her hands and remained in her fluffy slippers and robe over a red dress as she walked around the rainy set with an assistant holding an umbrella over her.

It is perhaps the absence of husband Tom Cruise, who is currently in Prague working on his new movie Mission: Impossible IV while she and daughter Suri remain in Los Angeles, that is behind her pained expression.

Or maybe the presence of stunning Christie was making Holmes feel a little insecure, as it would most women.

Comparisons to the blonde bombshell are also something that apparently plague her 24-year-old daughter Alexa Ray Joel.

Brinkley has had to appeal to internet bloggers to stop bullying her daughter with ex Billy Joel, for not looking like her supermodel mother.

'They would criticise her for her physical appearance,' Brinkley said this week during an appearance on Sharon Osbourne's new talk show. 'She's beautiful, exotic, gorgeous, beautiful - like Sophia Loren.

'We just don't look alike… So she gets criticised for not looking like me when she's her own gorgeous, unique [person]. It really is hurtful and it really brings us all down.'

The 56-year-old's age defying looks are not the result of Botox, but she did admit to trying the injections once.

'I actually tried it when I was approaching my fiftieth birthday and I thought, OK, I'm gonna, you know, spruce up for the big 5-0,' she told hosts of The Talk on CBS.
'They put this thing in my forehead, and I was like, "Oh my God! That kills me!" and I immediately lean forward.

'I guess I must have moved it, because then my eyebrows, they went like this,' Brinkley continued, demonstrating by pulling her eyebrows into a pained, angry expression.

'And you know what? When your eyebrows go like that, it's depressing. You are as depressed as you look.'



True professional : Katie managed to put a huge smile on her face as the cameras were rolling


The film is about Jack who has to deal with his twin sister Jill when she comes to stay for Thanksgiving and then refuses to leave - both characters are actually played by Sandler himself while Katie plays Jack's wife.

Adam has been spotted all over Los Angeles shooting scenes for the film dressed as a woman. And he claims that his four-year-old daughter, Sadie is loving his new look.

'There's a mocked up picture of me (dressed as a woman) in my house that we made and my daughter Sadie, loves it,' he said. 'She's excited about it.'

Katie Holmes started filming last week and her daughter Suri, four, has been hanging out with little Sadie, who is the same age.
