Halloween in Hollywood is like nowhere else on earth - with celebrities competing against each other to see who can wear the biggest,most outrageous outfits.

Last night 90210 actress Shenae Grimes started the festivities early as she headed out to join friends for dinner in West Hollywood.

The 21-year-old star wore a spooky looking black outfit consisting of a black strapless body under a long see-through lace dress with a black leather belt.

She paired the ensemble with towering chunky black booties and wore her dark hair long and wavy.

If not a Halloween outfit then it certainly should have been.

Earlier in the day the actress looked much more wholesome and relaxed as she headed out for a bike ride near her home in the beach-side community of Santa Monica, California.

Wearing light wash jeans shorts and a simple grey t-shirt she strolled along the path overlooking the ocean after doing a spot of shopping before the Halloween fun started later that night.

Also spotted getting into the spirit of the season was actress Liv Tyler, 33, who was seen taking her five-year-old son Milo to a children's Halloween party in New York City today.

Milo was dressed as a Hawaiian Tiki Monster complete with a huge wooden scary mask and skull topped stick.

The youngster played up for the cameras, donning his mask as his mother laughed at his antics.

Russell Brand has always thought new wife Katy Perry was a little firecracker - but the singer seems to have taken her groom's thoughts literally in her new video.

After an obsession with carefully-positioned cupcakes, Katie now appears to be shooting actual flames from her chest in the promo for new single Firework.

However, though it's not the first time a pop star has shot flames from her chest - Lady Gaga did it on stage at hte Much Music Awards in Canada a year last June.

But Katy has explained that her stunt was to symbolise the fighting spirit and 'life spark' latent in all human beings rather than simply for shock value.

Talking on her official website, the new bride explains: 'I think that in life, people are challenged to get to where they want to be and to reach their goals.

'Hopefully they can hear this song and find out that those challenges aren't really difficult to get past.'

Katy, 26, got together 250 'real life' inspirational young people 'that are buzzing and fizzing and have the potential to become fireworks' from eight different European countries to star in the video rather than use actors.

They all congregated in Budapest, Hungary, for the shoot.

She explains: 'With my story, it's been so many trials and tribulations to get to this place. It's amazing to hear people get through things in life and reach their goals.'

'Music can be so powerful and I think it can transform you and inspire you and heal you. We're basically making a formation of a firework, all the kids are being the sparks around me.'

'The whole vibe of the video shoot is a movement, an emotional experience.'

The promo sees a plump girl who is refusing to join in with a pool party suddenly get her spark, strip off and jump in the pool, alongside a bald young child who appears to be a cancer patient and a shy gay man.

All end up shooting sparks from their chests too in the climax to a song and video which has more than a echo of the sentiments in Christina Aquilera's Beautiful.

The finale sees all 250 dancing together in one of the beautiful squares in the stunning city, with special-effects fireworks shooting from their bodies into the sky.

The video chimes with the song's lyrics, which include: 'You've got to ignite the light and let it shine and own the night/'Cos baby you're a firework, come and show them what you're worth.'

The single, which Katy performed on the X Factor on 17 October, is the third to be taken from her album Teenage Dream. It was released on Monday and has already gone to Number Five on downloads alone.

Katy, who celebrated her birthday on Sunday, also wed comedian Brand in an elaborate ceremony on Saturday in Rajasthan, India.

They're currently enjoying their honeymoon in the Maldives.

Her belly is growing bigger by the week, but Penelope Cruz isn't letting her pregnancy slow her down.

The Spanish actress, 36, looked effortlessly chic in a casual black outfit today as she arrived back at her London hotel.

The Oscar-winner, who is six months pregnant with her first child, looked comfy in pair of black jeans, T-shirt, blazer and scarf as she returned from filming the new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie.

A short time later, she was joined at the hotel by her husband, Javier Bardem, who attended the London Film Festival premiere of his latest movie Biutiful on Tuesday.

Cruz has been temporarily residing in the British capital since last month to film her role as Angelica, the feisty daughter of Captain Blackbeard, alongside Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

However, with the actress's baby bump growing at a faster rate than producers expected, her younger sister Monica has been enrolled as a double.

Penelope and Javier, 41, confirmed they were expecting last month, following their hush-hush wedding in the Caribbean in July.

When he was asked if he and Penelope had decided on a name for the baby, he replied: 'No, not yet.'

The low-profile couple quietly began dating in 2007 as they filmed Vicky Cristina Barcelona, but have tried to keep their romance out of the spotlight.

She spent last Saturday having a 'friendly' day out in New York with actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

But Taylor Swift is playing it coy when it comes to rumours that she is dating the Brokeback Mountain star.

The 20-year-old singer, who looked stunning in red as she performed at New York's JFK airport on Wednesday, was quizzed on the actor by Ellen DeGeneres on a new episode of her talk show.

Swift told DeGeneres she is 'always optimistic about love...always, sometimes,' in the episode, to be aired on Monday.

DeGeneres then joked: 'Especially if your boyfriend is Jake Gyllenhaal, because he is very handsome, y'all are just hanging out though right?'

The singer, who is on a promotional tour for her new Speak Now album, then acknowledged she did indeed spend the day with the 29-year-old actor.

She said: 'You have a picture of us on the [TV] screen, don't you?'

Swift was also coy about Dear John, an angry song on the new album, said to be about her rumoured fling with singer John Mayer.

She said the song 'could be' about John as that is 'kind of what it is'.

Swift and Gyllenhaal, who split from actress Reese Witherspoon last November, were spotted having lunch in Brooklyn last weekend.

However, another source told the website that Swift is more focussed on her career at present.

'For her, it's all about the career right now,' they said. 'She's not really interested in getting heavily involved with anyone.'

The golfer planned and started building the incredibly grand beach-front estate with the help of his now ex-wife, Elin Nordegren.

But while he is ready to move in, she and their daughter Sam, three and 20-month-old Charlie are living elsewhere and will be only occasional visitors.

The grand building boasts huge windows for incredible sea views and has a glass-fronted lift for anyone too tired to take the stairs.

As well as a gigantic master bedroom - with, a little ironically - his-and-hers bathrooms, there are three further bedroom suites.

Another four buildings adjoin the main house, including a boathouse, golf training studio, a stand-alone garage and a huge guesthouse.

Outside, there is a tennis court, gym, diving pool, lap lane and small golf course. A pair of boat docks will provide a berth for Woods' 155 ft £10m yacht, aptly named Privacy.

Woods' five-year marriage was left in tatters almost a year ago, exposed after his bizarre November car crash outside his £1.3 million mansion in Windermere, Orlando.

Elin added that she and Woods tried to work through their marital problems, but in the end they had to agree to split.

She said: 'I felt stupid as more things were revealed -- how could I not have known anything?

'The word 'betrayal' isn't strong enough. I felt like my whole world had fallen apart.
'I felt embarrassed for having been so deceived. I felt betrayed by many people around me.

'Initially, I thought we had a chance and we tried really hard.'

In what she described as her first and last interview, Elin also said she has started to come to terms with her situation.

She said: 'I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children.

'I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.'

Kylie took her hosting duties seriously, holding court with chairpersons Sharon Stone, designer Kenneth Cole and high-powered agent Kevin Huvane during the event which celebrated men's style.
