Aren't you a bit old for that, Katy? Miss Perry clings onto her comfort blanket

Clucky? Katy Perry cradles a pink blanket and her laptop as she leaves a hotel in Manchester

With their eagerly-awaited wedding day just round the corner, could it be that Katy Perry is already thinking about motherhood?

The pop star was snapped clutching onto a pink blanket and a laptop close to her chest, just like a mother would hold a baby.

Katy, 25, snuggled her face into the fleecy throw as she and her fiancé Russell Brand left a hotel in Manchester today.

In skinny jeans, fur-lined boots and a black hat, Katy kept her face hidden from the cameras as she left the Lowry and made her way to a waiting car.

She held on very tight to her possessions, like she would a newborn, possibly getting some practice in.

Of course, it could just have been that the spot-prone star was just hiding a recent breakout on her face.

Katy had jetted into the UK last night after performing at the Wiener Arena in Vienna, Austria on Wednesday night in a tight rubber red dress.

She joined Brand in Manchester where he had been performing at the Opera House as part of his Booky Wooky 2 tour.

He was joined on stage by former Oasis star and good friend Noel Gallagher.

And he shunned partying after the event to go and meet Katy at the hotel.

He even Tweeted to one of his fans to apologise for not going for a drink afterwards and wrote: 'Sorry I didn't stay after I was KNACKERED and had to see me missus. Sending cyber love to you.'

He also teasingly scolded his fianceé last night, demanding that she 'get to bed', to which she simply replied: 'caught'.
