Couldn't you have made more effort, Mum? Madonna wears tracksuit and flip-flops to Kabbalah service

By Daily Mail Reporter

Not such a Material Girl: Madonna attends a New York Kabbalah service in tracksuit and flip flops in contrast to her smartened up family

She's known for reinventing her look time and time again.

But Madonna looked the opposite of stylish yesterday as she attended a Kabbalah service with her entire family.

The singer was accompanied by boyfriend Jesus Luz, daughters Lourdes,14, and Mercy, 5, and sons Rocco, 10, and David, 4.

And while her entire family clearly made an effort for the trip, Madonna looked like a wannabe teenager in her flip-flops and blue tracksuit with polka-dot shirt underneath.

Five-year-old Mercy looked adorable in her smart black and white dress, while Lourdes was every inch the rebellious teenager in her denim jacket.

Meanwhile Jesus, Rocco and David all looked impeccable in their all-white outfits, which are traditionally worn to Kaballah services.

Instead of complementing her beautiful family, the Material Girl looked as if she had just rolled out of bed.

With her messy hair hidden under a hat and make-up free face, she couldn't have looked less like a glamorous fashion icon.

And this is the dubious look the 52-year-old has been wearing of late as she shoots new movie W.E.

Teenage dream: Rocco and Lourdes are too cool for school in their trendy outfits

The biopic centres on the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis Simpson.

Costing £18million to make, the movie stars Bright Star actress Abbie Cornish as Wally Winthrop, Natalie Dormer as Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who went on to be the Queen Mother and Richard Coyle as William.

Billy Piper's husband Laurence Fox plays Bertie, his father James Fox is King George V and James D'Arcy plays King Edward VIII.

Andrea Riseborough plays Wallis and Madonna's daughter Lourdes also has a bit part in the movie, appearing under the name Lola Leon.

And it looks as if Madonna is trying her best to finally make a film people will appreciate, after her debut effort Filth and Wisdom was universally panned by critics.

Talking to Interview magazine this month, she said: 'When you make a movie, it seems like there's nothing but resistance.

'It's kind of a miracle that any movie ever gets made. Every other day, it's like, "What am I doing? This is insane. I could be off gardening right now. This is too stressful.

'Who do I think I am? Why am I putting myself through all of this punishment?" That's what it feels like-for me, anyway.'

W.E will be released next year.
