Camila Alves takes her adorable children for a day out in Malibu (while dad Matthew McConaughey has a rest)

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Adorable: Camila Alves takes nine-month-old Vida and Levi, two, out in Malibu California yesterday

With his nine-month-old daughter Vida recently taking her first steps, Matthew McConaughey has been doing a lot of running around of late.

So perhaps he was having a bit of a rest yesterday, as girlfriend Camila Alves, 28, took their adorable young children out in Malibu.

And they looked like they were enjoying their day out in the Los Angeles sun, with two-year-old Levi riding a bicycle and Vida showing off her new found walking skills.

However, Alves, wearing jeans, a white flowing top and felt hat, needed to give her a helping hand as she tottered along the side of the road.

With a bandana over his tousled hair, casual hippy style clothes and sandals, Levi looked like a mini version of his famous father.

Not to be outdone on the cuteness stakes by her big brother, little Vida looked equally endearing.

She was dressed in a little lace tutu and rock T-shirt with a headband around her head.

And despite looking like butter wouldn't melt in their mouths it would appear McConaughey's children are keeping him on his toes.

'[Vida] is walking, so we're busy,' McConaughey, 40, told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month.

'Not much time for us to daydream, because if you look up at the sky for about 10 seconds they're a half-mile down the road.'

The 40-year-old actor also revealed he is making sure his children are grateful for their privileged lifestyle.

'We have a family now, got two kids,' he said. 'One of the things that we've learned is that we've reminded [ourselves and] our kids to be thankful for all the things that we have, because a lot of kids don't have the opportunity.

'One: a solid mother-father relationship in the house. Two: Our kids don't have to worry about eating or college tuition.'

Family fun: McConaughey and Alves take their young family out in New York back in June

The actor, who has been dating Alves for three years, has recently been filming a new music video in Los Angeles.

He is directing the song for country singer Jamey Johnson's song Play The Part from his upcoming album, The Guitar Song.

Meanwhile, Brazillian-born Alves hosts hit U.S. TV programme Shear Genius, a reality show competition to find a top hairstylist.

She has dating McConaughey since 2007 after meeting at a party.
